The

This road was built in order to bring supply to the chinese by land. Previousely, Kunming could only receive goods sent in by plane above the Himalaya (the "hump" as pilots called it). The road was also called Stilwell Road and was more than 1000 miles (1700 km) in length on a dreadful terrain. 1100 americans died during its construction.

Behind the scenes

The terrain and road were done with Geocontrol 2.
The ecosystem for the foreground terrain contains more than 700,000 plants.
